Well, I'd say about the same as most students should be keeping in mind. Try to avoid connections you're not familiar with and report to student council if you notice your account's been used by someone other than you. For example, if a connection says something out there like "The Haunted School Belongs to Us" then it most likely isn't a legitimate connection.

I'm sorry that it's not reassuring news but, well, it's better to be informed than to have a nasty surprise later.

I'll do the same. Perhaps the computer club might be able to dig something up too.

I understand. My older brother can be the same way. He tends to worry about me a lot, to the point it can be a little overbearing at times actually. But he usually has the best intentions for himself and it doesn't hurt to have someone watching out for you.
